For the past five years, the OUM team has been right by our side through many complex and technically challenging transactions, often under tight deadlines. During a period of significant transition in 1990, California Glass Company of Oakland, CA, reached out to Chris and his team at OUM for both auditing and tax services. They did not disappoint, but rather became a critical part of our ability not only to continue growing, but to add other companies to the mix as well: Glass Pak, Inc., Pacific Coast Container, Inc., Maverick Enterprises, Inc., GP Holdings, LLC, and Via Romero Leasing, Inc., to be specific. As an IT outsourcing firm we found ourselves responding to an ever increasing volume of request from clients to describe and verify our own security and business continuity practices. Saxco International’s relationship with Chris started in 2005 when we acquired an Oakland, CA based distributor. This distributor had used Chris and OUM for a number of years. After understanding OUM’s capabilities and seeing their work, we decided to retain them as the auditor for our Western affiliates. In 2007, OUM assumed the responsibility for auditing our Eastern US affiliates. Last year, we reorganized after an investment of private equity. OUM helped us through that process and they now audit all of our entities worldwide. We had no relationship with OUM prior to 2005. They retained our business because they earned it. As a middle market company, we need our audit firm to strike the right balance. We want our financial statements to be right and we want a thorough audit. We want a firm with the sophistication to assist us with complex transactions. We are small enough, though, where we need a firm to be our partner and our advisor. OUM has done all of this for Saxco.
